Mayor's Message:
"Gene" Therapy
by Gene Crepeau

Well, it's coming soon. Our 45th Reunion! Your reunion committee has been working diligently to offer another fun-filled event loaded with activities: dining, dancing, fellowship, and a few pops.

For those of you who aren"t sure what to expect, let me share part of a letter I received from one of your classmates, Dick Mallion, after he attended our 40th reunion. He wrote:

"The entertainment and events were all developed and orchestrated by the reunion committee, a dedicated group of alums who spent a lot of time arranging the entire weekend with some super help from Alumni Relations staff. Never once were we asked to open our wallets and leave all our spare change. No one had to force a good time. It just happened as old friendships were renewed, new friendships were made, and a sense of camaraderie was generated which I never felt so strongly even after five years on campus.

"The bottom line is this: It was a great experience. Anyone who has the same (low) expectations I had will be awesomely surprised if they attend a reunion of the Class of '62 or any other class that is so fortunate as to have a cadre of classmates willing to spend the time to get it organized.

"Am I glad I attended the 40th reunion? Absolutely. Will I attend a future reunion? I will if I'm still alive when the 45th or 50th (or greater) rolls around.

"Do yourself a favor, and go to your next reunion."
